ABOUT US

EMPLOYMENT PORTAL

We have set up this portal as a one stop-shop to link our community members and other Indigenous participants with quick and easy access to opportunities in real time. This includes the development of a database that will help us to identify the vast skill sets that exist among our people.

MUSCOWPETUNG IS EAGER TO BRING ABOUT RAPID ADVANCEMENT AND GROWTH IN THE AREA OF OUR HUMAN RESOURCES AND MANPOWER.

To do this we have developed an internal process that will field our men and women who want to engage the opportunities arising from:

1. POTASH MINES
2. INTERJURISDICTIONAL PROJECTS (LIKE PIPELINES)
3. CORPORATE PROCUREMENT POLICIES
4. EXPANSION OF OUR INDIAN GOVERNMENT THROUGH RECONCILIATION

This includes the development of a database that will help us to identify the vast skill sets that exist among our people. We have set up this portal as a one stop-shop to link our  community members and other Indigenous participants with quick and easy access to opportunities in real time.

Our Labour Force Development Program is a “status-blind” model designed to intake all able and willing Indigenous men and women. We plan to provide all training and hardware necessary to equip our MSBD Labour Force for the tasks at hand. It is our goal to create the same parameters and protections for our workers that you would find within any union or labour association throughout Saskatchewan.

“WE WANT TO ENGAGE AND NURTURE OUR PEOPLE’S TALENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES TO GIVE OUR YOUNG PARENTS THE ABILITY TO DREAM OF A BRIGHTER FUTURE IN OUR COMMUNITY. OVERALL, WE WANT TO EMPOWER OUR PEOPLE!”

— CHIEF MELISSA TAVITA

Who will we help?

1. MUSCOWPETUNG BAND  MEMBERS;
2. BAND MEMBERS FROM SURROUNDING FIRST NATIONS.
3. NON-STATUS INDIVIDUALS;
4. MEMBERS OF SURROUNDING METIS LOCALS.

We have initiated the MSBD  Labour Force Development Program through the creation of two exciting new partnerships with KMS Construction and Radium Technologies. We will continue to expand our program by linking our active labour force to any existing and future partnerships as we succeed in bids.

The MSBD Labour Force Development Program is a key part of our business proposition for existing and future partners and investors. We want to develop a robust, reliable and efficient labour force from men and women living within a 100 km radius of our nation.

THE OPPORTUNITIES

the
opportunities

We will be working closely with the Community Investment Divisions of the surrounding Pipelines and Potash Mines to facilitate innovative ways to link participants with the following:

1. SUPPLEMENTARY POST- SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES – TO LINK WELL QUALIFIED BAND MEMBERS/OR POST-SECONDARY STUDENTS WITH MANAGEMENT TYPE POSITIONS;

2. TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES – SPECIFIC TO CERTIFICATIONS FOR LABOUR POSITIONS (TICKETS)

3. TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES – SPECIFIC TO PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
4. PARTICIPATION IN ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING OPPORTUNITIES

MSBD is actively seeking assistance from proponents on the internal development of back-end software that can be used to manage and sustain the Labour pool throughout our labour development build up efforts. We believe that this type of software will provide ease of access to opportunities arising from the wealth generated by local mines and infrastructure projects. If you are a major proponent who would like to help us with this aspect of our project please feel free to reach out.

OUR LABOUR FORCE DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES ARE MANAGED BY MR. PHIL ANAQUOD.
